In the afternoon of Apr 21, the 3rd "Zhiyuan" academic salon of 2017 was held in the lecture hall. The report invited Prof. Jifeng Xu, Vice Chief Engineer of COMAC and Dr. Xiujing Han as a report. The salon was hosted by Prof. Jianfei Lu, deputy dean of our faculty. All the teachers of our faculty and graduate students, including some undergraduate students took part in the academic activities.
At the beginning, Prof. Lu expressed great appreciation for their coming and made a brief introduction about Prof. Xu and Mr. Han’s research areas and major academic achievements. Then Prof. Xu made an academic report called “Composite materials and commercial aircraft”. Finally, Dean Prof. Ying Luo summarized the report and spoke highly of Prof. Xu’s achievements in the field of composite materials. Besides, we hoped that there will be some breakthroughs with the joint efforts of all. After Prof. Xu’s report, Dr. Han also gave a report with the name of “Dynamic mechanism and classification of cluster oscillations in a multi-time scale nonlinear system”.
The academic report aroused the interest of many teachers and students, and after the meeting, we had a lively discussion with the two experts. The content of this salon activity which concluding mechanics and civil engineering is rich and detailed, further enhancing the academic atmosphere of our college, and improving the professional quality of our teachers and students.
