On Nov. 2nd, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the former president of Beijing Institute of Technology, Prof. Hu Haiyan visited Jiangsu University and gave a special lecture on the inverse problems in engineering.
With the title of “Inverse Problem in Engineering”, academician Hu analyzed and explained the research ideas, research methods and challenges of several types of positive and negative problems combining his research experience in dynamics and control related to aviation and aerospace technology for many years from "system identification", "load identification", "dynamic design" and "dynamic control".
Academician Hu's lecture aroused the strong interest of teachers and students. After the report, the teachers and Academician Hu had a positive exchange and discussion.

Hu Haiyan (Chinese: 胡海岩; born 1956) is President of Beijing Institute of Technology. He is a fellow of the Chinese Academy of Science and a leading scientist in mechanics. He obtained doctoral degree from the Nanjing Aeronautics and Astronautics University. He was a researcher at the University of Stuttgart from 1992 to 1994, a visiting professor at Duke University from 1996 to 1997. He previously served as President of the Nanjing Aeronautics and Astronautics University. He was appointed as President of Beijing Institute of Technology in 2007.
