The salon invited Prof. Zhang Jian of our faculty to give an academic report titled "Recognition, Life Design and Health Monitoring of Marine Equipment Structure System" for everyone.

The report was hosted by Assistant Dean Han Yu, and some faculty members and graduate students participated in this academic activity. At the beginning of the event, Dean Han Yu introduced Professor Zhang Jian’s research expertise, emphasizing the current state’s emphasis on infrastructure construction in the field of marine engineering, and encouraged relevant teachers to take the opportunity to combine research work with social services.

Immediately afterward, Prof. Zhang gave an in-depth introduction to this topic from three aspects: a basic overview of marine structures, identification methods of structural systems (genetic algorithms, substructure methods), and life design of marine structures. In the report, Professor Zhang gave detailed explanations on his own research in conjunction with the Shengli Oilfield Platform's real-time health monitoring project. In the end, Professor Zhang gave an outlook on his scientific research direction and hoped to cooperate with related teachers of our faculty.

This report arouses the strong interest of teachers and students. After the report, teachers and Professor Zhang had a lively exchange and discussion of relevant issues.
