At 15:30 on Nov. 12th, 2014, the4th "Zhiyuan" academic salon was held in our conference room 210. Fourteachers were invited to shared their experience of study or visiting abroad.The salon was hosted by Prof. Jianfei Lu, deputy dean of our faculty. All the facultywere presented.

Firstly, Dean Prof. Ying Luo shared hisexperiences and feelings about his visit to the United States. He emphasized theattention the university has put on the international affairs. Currently, there are over 800 students of Jiangsu Universitystudying abroad and a Confucius College has been set in Graz University, Austriaand so on. Meanwhile, the number of teachers studying abroad each year isincreasing year by year. Our university has received remarkable internationalachievements.

Secondly, director of the Mechanics & Engineering Science department, associate Prof. Jianguo Zhu, introduced his experiences as a visiting scholar at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and reported the fruitful results achieved during his visiting. In addition, he described some local customs and something about his experiences in the US state of Massachusetts. After then, associate prof,Wu Weiguo also share his visiting scholar experiences at North Carolina State University. He detailed the curriculum and the teaching methods in US universities.

Afterwards, two teachers--Jingxiu Han and Xiaofang Zhang from the research group of Prof. Qinsheng Bi showed the significance of the school visiting invited by Prof. Kurths from Potsdam University University. During their visit, the research team deeply discussed with Prof. Kurths about the research personnel, direction, results and works to be carried out in the future. Both sides raised the willingness to cooperate in the future.

The salon lasted nearly two hours and interaction was very great. It not only increased the communication between teachers but also deepened their understanding of the overseas visiting, which played a positive role in promoting the internationalization of our faculty.
