On Jan. 13th, the Youth League Committee of our faculty held the celebration of the Laba Festival jointly with Yangjiamen Community. Minority students, foreign students, and some student cadres from our faculty participated in the event.

At the event, the aunt of the community introduced the ingredients to the dishes, and then taught everyone how to handle the ingredients. After the explanation, each person did their own work, washing the pot, scouring the rice, cutting the vegetables etc. During the waiting time, the head of the community introduced the source of the Laba Festival to the students. Finally, everyone tasted the fragrant Laba porridge and felt the strong taste of the year.

The purpose of this activity is to lead the students into the community, to enter the distance between Chinese and foreign students, to promote national unity, and to actively spread Chinese traditional culture.
