On the afternoon of Dec. 3rd, the teaching affairs conference was successfully held ourfaculty. The conference was hosted by our Chairman of Faculty Affairs CommitteeHong Zhang, all our leaders and teachers attended.

Firstly, our dean prof. Ying Luo illustrated the importance of the professional certification, including the purpose, meaning and relevant requirements of the international professional certification of engineering education. He stressed that all future profession shall cultivate talents according to the international criteria and conventions. Secondly, engineering education certification is the internationally accepted quality assurance systems for engineering education. Inthe professional certification indicator system, the satisfaction rating is avital indicator, which includes the students’ evaluations, employers’ evaluations, parents and society’s evaluations.

Deputy dean prof. Baocang Sun, who incharge of teaching affairs, spoke about three aspects based on current teaching works. Firstly, he analyzed the results of Professional Teaching Satisfaction Survey from graduates of the year 2014. He referred all the rating indexes and pointedout the problems exited in current situation. Secondly, he announced the evaluation results of teachers’ teaching quality in 2013-2014 and required every teacher should carefully analysis students’ comments, and summarize the pros and cons so as to improve the teaching quality. Thirdly, he introduced the overall situation of China's civil engineering professional evaluation, and put forward detailed requirements for the work in the next stage.

Director of Civil Engineering Department Chunhua Lu, reported the “Current situation of the professional certificationon civil engineering in our nation”from Prof.Guoqiang Li. He illustrated the current evaluation criteria of civil engineering (2013 version) in detail.

Finally, chairman of faculty affairs committee Hong Zhang, made a concluding speech, pointed that participating in engineering education professional certification is not only atrend, but also an urgent need for a professional connotation construction. She hope all members of our faculty will try our best to do this important and meaningful work.
